You Have Always Been My Hero
I Will Always Be A Daddy's Girl
No One Truly Knew The Love We Shared
And Though Many Felt You Were Larger Than Life
To Me, You Were Just My Dad
I Love You Dad
I Miss You Terribly And I Always Will
It's Hard To Know Just What To Do
Since You Went Away
I Wish You Were Here
So I Could Stand On Your Boots
And You Would Waltz My Cares Away

Dad was one of the last of the Real Texas Cowboys
Who happened to be a preacher!

![]() 11/1/98-Dad with Misty This evening was a gift to me. Before all my siblings came home, I spent the evening with my dad and mom, with my two girls, and not once did the doorbell ring and no one called. I do not recall the solitude we had that evening ever occurring before. Dad told story after story and although I knew he was tired and at 8:30 p.m. I stood as if to leave, he talked nonstop until after 10:30 that night. We were laughing and joking and he told stories I had never heard before. He explained how to deal the second card and the sound when someone deals from the bottom of the deck. Later he explained how to throw dice correctly so as to not let them roll off your hand but rather sail through the air. I think my dad was a card shark before he became a preacher!!~lol!~ When we left that evening it was hard to believe dad was ill, much less consider that he would die in only eleven days. It is an evening my girls and I will never forget. Thanks Dad. |
